Nehemiah brought his worries to God. "Please remember Your promises. Grant me success today by making the king agreeable to my request. Put it into his heart to be kind to me." And God did! The king gave his blessing for his servant Nehemiah to return to Jerusalem to rebuild its walls! The king even sent letters with Nehemiah authorizing travel from Babylon to Jerusalem and allowing him to use trees from the king's forest to rebuild. AND the king sent army officers and horsemen to protect him! Unheard of! Several bullies in the area tried to discourage the work on the walls, but God was greater. God is for us, too! He still puts favor in the hearts of others on our behalf when we follow His plans. No need to be afraid! So .... we built our own city with walls and guards like Nehemiah.
