This multi-Sunday project looked at how God's Word says we are loved, treasured, remarkably made, His child, forgiven, heard, seen, never alone, protected, and able to do hard things. "How sweet Your Words taste to me, they are sweeter than honey," Psalm 119:103. Then we tasted honey on crackers to get a first-hand taste. YUM! Yet God's Words to us are sweeter still. Next, we looked at how our words can be sweet like honey to others. "Kind words are like honey, sweet to the soul and healthy for the body," Proverbs 16:24. Then we practiced honey-filled words like please, thank you, good job, let's be friends, Jesus loves you, let's share, I'm sorry, you are amazing, and more! We also compared the difference between cornbread cooked with honey and without. By far the overwhelming preference was the honey cooked cornbread, just like we prefer to hear honey-filled, encouraging words. So fun!
