This week we learned about Jesus' second temptation. The kids talked about what it's like to hear only part of a story, and how the devil wants us to believe only part of the Bible - twisted to justify what he wants us to do and not what God wants us to do. Some great ways to know what the Bible really says is to read it, listen to stories from the Bible at home and church, pray and ask God to reveal the truth, and talk to our parents about it. The kids also understood that testing God would be like us creating a challenge expecting God to prove His promises instead of trusting God to prove His promises when we find ourselves facing a challenge - like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego! Three takeaways from this lesson: 1) the devil always wants us to question who we are instead of realizing Whose we are, 2) the devil knows Bible verses, and 3) the devil attempts to use the way we think to justify why we should do something we know is wrong. Stand strong! Remember how much you mean to God and how He watches over you. He is driven by His unique and special love for each of us! How cool is that?!
